NAFISA NAOMI has earned more than forty prestigious art prizes. She was also chosen as one of the Australian artists to be represented in the prestigious Florence Biennale 2005.

According to North Shore Times (2002), Mayor of Willoughby City, Councillor Pat Reilly, officially opened the art prize exhibition. "We have been inundated with many pieces of fantastic art work," the Mayor said. "Our local community has many talented artists and our art prize recognizes their work and achievements." In this event, Nafisa Naomi was awarded for The Willoughby Resident's Award for "Portrait of Salvatore Zoffrea".
