Chan Chui Lung - Live sitting in Libo

Chan Chiu Lung is a famous Hong Kong artist who specializes in portraiture.

Chan received professional art training in China and studied art from a Russian prestigious and representative painter, A. A. Mylinikov, so he is deeply influenced by the Soviet realism painting style.

Currently, He is chosen as the Vice President of The Hong Kong Oil Painters' Guild. He is the Permanent member of The Hong Kong Artists Society, The Hong Kong Art Club, The Hong Kong Watercolor Art Society and The Guizhou Artists’ Association. His eminent subjects include some well-known celebrities, CEOs and senior executives in Hong Kong, tremendously praising Chen's lifelike and vivid paintings.

In 2006, a number of Hong Kong artists, including Chen, visited Guizhou and practiced live sitting portraitures with the minorities who were dressed in traditional costumes in Lipo. The tradition and culture of the minority ethnic groups are diminishing in China, thus Chen endeavors to present, preserve and promote the distinctive, traditional cultural heritage in front of the eyes of all Chinese and the foreigners. On the other hand, exploring the characteristics of the minority group, Chen sought inspiration for self enhancement and for work improvement.

Due to his devotion to art and fruitful painting technique, ArtLinks Asia highly recommend Chen among a handful of Hong Kong portraitists.
